Step 1

The first thing that you should do is to gather the necessary materials. Different calls for turkey are primarily made from dry wood. If you do not want to spend money on buying the wood, you can just use any old furniture that you rarely use anymore. Table tops and legs bear much potential for turkey call-making.

If you have funds to spare, you can also buy the wood from your local hardware or wood shop. For best results, stick to the walnut, cherry, maple, mahogany, basswood, and poplar variety.
